Audio:

LSU / Iowa Capital One Bowl Finale, January 1, 2005 - Referred to by some as the most memorable moment in University of Iowa Hawkeyes Football history, this audio clip captures the closing moments of the 2005 Capital One Bowl Game where Iowa quarterback Drew Tate threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Warren Holloway on the final play to snatch a victory from the LSU Tigers. (A photograph of this exciting catch may be found in the photo section of this page.) This is an awesome recording to be cherished by any Hawkeye fan.

University of Iowa Hawkeyes Fight Song - Just hearing the opening bars of The Iowa Fight Song is enough to get any self-respecting Hawkeye sports fan or alumnus on their feet, clapping and singing at top volume. You can download the song here and sing along right at your computer. If you don't remember the words, don't worry - we won't tell. The lyrics are as follows:

The word is "Fight, fight, fight for Iowa!" Let every loyal Iowan sing.
The word is "Fight, fight, fight for Iowa!"
until the walls and rafters ring (Go Hawks!).
Come on and cheer, cheer, cheer, for Iowa!
Come on and cheer until you hear the final gun.
The word is "Fight, fight, fight for Iowa!" until the game is won!

On Iowa - Not as well known as the Iowa Fight Song, "On Iowa" is another great University of Iowa song. The Iowa Hawkeye Marching Band played this song as they marched down field for every pregame show. You're excused if you don't know the words to this song; the lyrics are below.

On Iowa proudly at the fore
On Iowa on for evermore
Ev'ry loyal son will give
A Rousing toast to you
Ev'ry loyal daughter loves you true
On Iowa with your wealth untold
A heritage to us you did unfold
Love of family, love of friend
Love of country too
Makes us proud for what you stand
Our Dear Old Gold.
